About Math Roadmap

A free, open resource for self-taught mathematicians. Built by learners, for learners who believe that quality education shouldn't require a big budget.

Our Mission

Mathematics education should be accessible to everyone. Whether you're a working professional changing careers, a student filling gaps in your knowledge, or simply curious about the beauty of mathematics — you deserve access to quality learning resources.

Math Roadmap curates the best freely available and affordable textbooks, organizes them into logical learning paths, and provides guidance on how to study effectively. No paywalls, no subscriptions, no gatekeeping.

Our Values

Accessible

Quality mathematics education shouldn't be locked behind expensive courses or degrees. We prioritize free and affordable resources.

Self-Paced

Life is busy. Learn at your own speed, on your own schedule. No deadlines, no pressure — just steady progress.

Honest

We provide real reviews and honest guidance. If a book isn't great, we'll tell you. If you can't afford it, we'll help you find alternatives.

Why We Built This

Math Roadmap started from a simple observation: there are thousands of people who want to learn mathematics but don't know where to start. YouTube is full of "Learn Math from START to FINISH" videos, Reddit threads ask "How do I self-study math?" every week, and countless learners give up because the path forward isn't clear.

Meanwhile, there are incredible free and affordable textbooks gathering digital dust. MIT OpenCourseWare, community college resources, open-source books, and budget-friendly classics — all available, but scattered and unorganized.

We built Math Roadmap to connect these dots. To take the excellent resources that already exist and organize them into clear, actionable learning paths. To provide the guidance and structure that makes self-study actually work.

This project is free and will always remain free. It's built with care for people who are serious about learning but might not have the resources for expensive programs.

How It Works

1

Choose Your Path

Select a learning path based on your goals — whether it's data science, pure mathematics, engineering, or building foundations from scratch.

2

Follow the Roadmap

Each path breaks down into stages with carefully selected books and resources. Start at stage 1 and work your way through systematically.

3

Study at Your Pace

Use our study guides and recommended practices. Work through textbooks, do the problems, and build real mathematical understanding.

4

Get Help When Needed

Can't afford a book? Click the 'Can't Afford' button and we'll help you find free alternatives, library access, or community resources.
